“It’s unfortunate for any young man to miss this amount of time playing the game that he loves due to an injury. Our top priority at UCF is to maintain the well-being of our student-athletes, so our main concern right now is getting Tacko back to being 100 percent healthy.” Said head coach Jonny Dakwins in a released statement from the university.
Fall had seen an improvement in points in his third season with the Knights, averaging 11.3 points per game. However, after missing the first two games to start the season, he averaged 14.5 points per game in his first 10 games in the season. In the last 6 games since the Christmas break, Fall has only averaged 7.83 points per game. He has also seen a drop in block's and rebound's this season compared to last.
Fall however, is confident this is just a bump in the road and remains confident.
“Injuries are unfortunate, but they are just part of the game. It pains me that I won’t be able to be out there and compete with my brothers, however I’ll still keep cheering and being the best teammate I can possibly be. Great things are still ahead for us.”
Fall is expected to make a full recovery. However, it is not yet clear if he will return to the team in the 2018-19 season, or enter the NBA draft.
