Orlando- Saturday evening, the Orlando Predators faced off against the Cleveland Gladiators in a game that saw Orlano grab a 62-55 win. It was an electrifying night for the 11, 469 fans, and the Orlando Predators as they sought out the Cleveland Gladiators, as their prey.
Predators Quarterback, QB Aaron Garcia found T.T. Toliver early in the 1st, to give the Predators the advantage. The Gladiators responded with a touchdown of their own, tying the game and continuing this throughout much of the first half. With only 0:41 left, Gladiators had just clawed their top, bringing the score to 28-27. After the Predators gained possession, they went to work and with less then 30 seconds left, T.T. Toliver broke into the end zone. Daytona Beach- Yesterday was a perfect day for some double-header, Cubs baseball. However the opposing team proved to be too much of a match for the Cubs. Daytona Cubs faced off against Fort Myers Miracle twice due to rain conditions on Tuesday night.
In game one the Cubs started things off with bang, as 1st Baseman Ben Carhart, received his 30th RBI of the season. Followed by a fielder’s choice that gave the Cubs the advantage of 2-0. The table started to turn when Miracle’s Center fielder, #30 Conclaves, tied the game with a double, and #8 Wickens with a double of his own, to give the Miracle a 4-2 lead against the Cubs. After two more runs scored for the Miracle, Cubs catcher, #16 Chad Krist attempted to rally the crew by crushing a solo homerun. Daytona Cubs fell short, giving the Miracle game one, with the final score being 6-3. In game number two, the Cubs #7 John Andreoli started the team off with a promising double play. However, the Miracle were the first to put runs on the board with 3B Steven Wickens two run shot into left field. It wasn’t until the 5th inning that the Cubs put a run up on the board, bringing them within one. The Miracles bats were too much to handle in the 6th inning as they put three more runs on the board for the Miracle. As we grew closer to the end, DH Zeke DeVoss responded with a 2 run shot, nearly through the scoreboard, to bring the Cubs within one run. Unfortunately, Fort Myers Miracle ended the game with the victory. The final score for game two was, 5-4, giving the Miracle a 3-0 advantage in the series. The two teams meet up for game number three tonight in Daytona. |
