Keenan Reynolds has four rushing touchdowns against SMU on Saturday, but it was his first touchdown of the game that put him in the NCAA record books.
Reynolds went into the game tied with Monte Ball for the FBS record for rushing touchdowns in a career at 77 and with a 4-yard scoring run he cemented himself alone at the top of the list.
The senior quarterback now sits at 81 rushing touchdowns with two regular season games remaining and potentially a conference championship game still to play.
Reynolds does not yet hold the NCAA record for rushing yards in a career as that is held by Adrian Peterson of Georgia Southern, who from 1998-2001 rushed for a record 84 touchdowns in his career.
A senior for the Midshipmen, Reynolds has been under center in Annapolis since his first year on campus, becoming only the third Navy quarterback to start as a freshman. He was also the first player in Army-Navy game history to be named MVP as a freshman.
For the senior out of Tennessee, it has been a long and successful campaign so far at the United States Naval Academy, but all records aside you can bet that Reynolds just wants to end his football career with a conference championship game in Annapolis Maryland on December 5.
That can happen if the Midshipmen can defeat Tulsa this week and get a win over Houston on the final week of the season.
