Ogletree Continues to Impress Following Big Performance Against Baltimore
By Kendel Parkinson
Tampa, FL - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers completed their last open practice in front of the home crowd before their second pre-season match against the New England Patriots on Aug. 16th. The Buccaneers are looking to improve from their last season (7-9) with new additions on both sides of the ball. The addition of Darrell Revis gives the team a much-needed lift in the secondary where they had major issues last year.
Reinforcements were also added to the offense this offseason with players like Payton Hillis, Brian Leonard and Kevin Ogletree. Ogletree was the latest addition to an already talented receiving group lead by Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams but adding Kevin to the roster gives them more depth and more weapons for 3rd year QB Josh Freeman, who enters his last year of his contract. |
Ogletree had a productive night against the Baltimore Ravens catching five passes for sixty-five yards and was targeted eight times proving that he is part of the plans for the offensive strategy being put in place by head coach Greg Schiano.
Head coach Greg Schiano commented on Ogletree’s performance against the BaltimoreRavens. “…You can see he’s got ability and that is why we went out and got him and he did the things we thought he could.”
The Buccaneers will be heading to Foxborough to practice with the Patriots prior to their pre-season match up on august 16th. Kevin Ogletree was asked to comment on the upcoming practice with Brady and company. “That is a new look, I mean I’ve just about had it with our DB’s. So it will be good to get some work with new people.” Ogletree added, “Its always good to put your system out there and try it against different looks and different teams.”
The Buccaneers are looking to rebound after loosing their pre-season opening game to the defending Super Bowl champs on Thursday. Wide receiver Kevin Ogletree should see more passes coming his way as he continues to learn the Buccaneers’ offense and making a good impression to his coaching staff.
