Preds Drop to 0-4 as The Storm Claim Victory in Round 1 of the War on I-4
Tampa Bay started the game hot with the defense causing a turnover and capitalizing with a touchdown. The Storm's defense kept the pressure on all night with defensive back Chris Smith intercepting his third pass of the season and defensive lineman Tank Tyler adding a pair of sacks.
Tampa Bay's offense also joined the party with quarterback Adrian McPherson completing 12-20 passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns. McPherson also showed each of his receivers some love by connecting with Joe Hills, Greg Ellingson, and Michael Lindsey four times each. Hills lead the bunch with 83 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Lindsey and Ellingson each had 1 touchdown. Orlando Predator's quarterback Kyle Rowley started the game for the team, but was soon replaced by Chris Dixon after the 1st quarter. Rowley ended the game on 6-17 passing with 70 yards and 2 interceptions. Dixon finished the game 17-21 with 198 yards and 3 touchdowns. Former storm receiver T.T. Toliver lead the predators in receiving with 106 yards on six receptions. During the 3rd Quarter, Tampa Bay Kicker Juan Bongarra was taken directly to the hospital due to severe chest pains. Greg Ellingson replaced Bongarra at the Kicker position due to his experience because he was a prep soccer star at Robinson High in Tampa The Tampa Bay Storm continues its road trip as the team heads to Spokane, WA to face the Spokane Shock. The Orlando Predators look to get their first win of the season against the Arizona Rattlers in Arizona next weekend. |
