Tampa Bay Buccaneers Make More Roster Changes
By Paula Avila
Tampa, FL - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a couple of changes to their roster on Saturday. The team waived OG Jeremy Lewis and FS Nick Saenz. WR Jerry Johnson was placed on the reserve squad; as a result they signed free agents WR Bobby Sewall, FB Spencer Larsen, undrafted free agent OG Jeff Olsen and CB Mason Robinson.
Bobby Sewall was an undrafted free agent for the Titans in 2010 and played two arena football seasons with the Jacksonville Sharks. Sewall stated it will be a challenging transition going from an arena football player to a NFL athlete because the speed and atmosphere of the game are very different from each other. |
The wide receiver had his first practice with the Bucs Sunday morning and stayed to go over small drills after practice to familiarize himself with the playbook. Sewall looks forward to developing and possibly growing as a NFL receiver to help increase the Bucs’ 7-9 record from the 2012 season.
Sewall has exemplary and talented receivers to learn from and compete with. “What we have is a great competition for that third receiver spot,” stated Coach Greg Schiano when asked to comment on the performance of Kevin Ogletree and Tiquan Underwood.
The team had a crowd noise playing through amplified speakers on the field as they practiced. Today was the second day the Bucs practiced in full pads and will resume training camp tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. in front of their fans at One Buc Place.
