ORLANDO, FL. - Orlando City SC’s corporate partners commit to provide resources and support the charity friendly between Orlando City and the Puerto Rico national team on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Orlando City Stadium. All net proceeds for the match will benefit the United for Puerto Rico fund.
“It’s humbling to see how committed our partners are to help us with this initiative. Moments like this make us proud to be surrounded by great organizations and the people behind them,” said Rob Parker, Orlando City SC Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. “We want to put on a great event and invite our fans and partners to join this cause and help raise funds for our sister island of Puerto Rico.”
Central Florida Audi Dealers are the official presenting partner for the match, now named the Fuerza Puerto Rico Friendly Presented by Audi. Ticketmaster, who helped Orlando City go 100 percent paperless during its inaugural season at Orlando City Stadium, will waive operational fees for tickets to this match.
The stadium’s catering partner, Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, will join the Club in donating all net proceeds gained to the United for Puerto Rico fund.
JetBlue, San Juan Airport's largest carrier, will provide roundtrip flight accommodations for the Puerto Rico national team, while Experience Kissimmee will provide lodging. Publix and Papa John’s will assist in covering meals for the group, and WastePro will provide an in-kind financial contribution to the fund.
“We are also grateful to our jersey entitlement sponsor, Orlando Health, for the life-saving care they continue to give patients from Puerto Rico,” added Parker. “Orlando Health has collected more than 2,500 pounds of donated items as well, and all donations are now on their way to Puerto Rico.”
Over one million Puerto Ricans reside in the state of Florida, with a majority of the population living in the Orlando area. In addition, nearly 40,000 Puerto Rico evacuees are calling Orlando home while recovery efforts are underway in the island.
