Kissimmee FL- A crowd of 4,919 saw the Orlando City Lions extend their win streak to 17 Saturday night. Forward Dennis Chin opened the scoring for City in the 33rd minute and Anthony Pulis added a second in the 50th minute off a penalty kick.
The beginning of the game started off fairly slow until the 33rd minute and then Orlando City got into their groove. Orlando City won the shot battle with 15 shots to 3 in the first half, showing that they had clear control of possession during the half.
The second half opened up the same as the first with Orlando maintaining possession, but this time the Wilmington's defense showed their frustration taking Kevin Molino down in the box. This gave City midfielder Anthony Pulis the rare chance to slot the ball in the back of the net, which he capitalized on putting the Lions up 2-0 in the 50th minute. "That's my one for the season, yea it was nice," said Pulis of his goal.
Wilmington's attack struggled through the night only getting 4 shots on City keeper Miguel Gallardo. Gallardo was able to hold strong in goal producing his 7th clean sheet of the season.
Orlando City will now travel to the west coast to face Sacramento Republic FC on Thursday, July 17th at Bonney Field in Sacramento, California. Kickoff is set for 10:30 PM.
