(Orlando, FL) - Orlando City tied 1-1 tonight against Charlotte Independence at the Orlando City Stadium. place.
The scored did not open until the second half when Charlotte Independence’s midfielder, Lewis Hilton, put the ball in the net after receiving at the verge of the small area a filtered pass from midfielder Alex Martinez. However, Orlando City was not done. At the 70th minute, Orlando City’s defender Scott Thomsen sent a low cross that easily went through Charlotte’s back-line. Forward Dikwa Albert put on the cape and netted the ball on the left-hand side of goalkeeper Cody Mizell giving the tie for the Lions. Albert was one of the best players on the field. He was OCB’s most dangerous players, with speed and good technique, was a major concern for Charlotte Independence’s coach, Mike Jeffries. Charlotte Independence dominated ball possession throughout the match with a total of 54%. However, the visitors were not able to materialize the ball possession into goals and cost them two points that would have taken them out of the last position. Orlando City B had trouble coming up with ideas on the last quarter of the field. It was demonstrated when they had the ball because they played the mostly to the back-line instead of trying to push the lines forward. However, when trying to play forward, most of the past were intercepted or went long. So, coach Anthony Pulis has something to work this two weeks off. The Lions let two important points that would have placed them on the 5th place go away. However, the Lions still summed one point that kept them on the 7th position. OCB still on play-offs position; which is the objective for the 2017 season. Keep in mind that the first 8 teams on the final standing qualify for a knockout stage which determines the winner of this season.
