As the 2016 college football season came to a close this week, Boston College has started to look ahead. In a two-day span, the Boston College Athletic Department has announced agreements for future games with both, Rutgers and Kansas.
Boston College will play a four-game series with the Big Ten’s Rutgers. The Eagles will travel down to New Brunswick, NJ, in 2019 and 2027. The Scarlet Knights will make trips to Chestnut Hill in 2022 and 2026.
Kanas and Boston College will take part in a home-and-home series. The Jayhawks will make the trip to Alumni Stadium for their first ever meeting in 2019. And, will host the Eagles in Lawrence in 2020.
The announcements are the continuation of a trend of Boston College Director of Athletics Brads Bates boosting the Eagles future schedules with Power Five non-conference schools.

The additions of Rutgers and Kansas, and the games scheduled against perennial ranked teams Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford, will help the Eagles, who finished 2016, 7-6 and 2-6 in the ACC, get back into the national conscience. With 2019 shaping up to be a big year with three Power Fives on the schedule.
Boston College opens the 2017 season on September 1st at Northern Illinois.
