The Atlanta Falcons can book their tickets for Houston and Super Bowl LI with their 44-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. The Falcons were led by MVP candidate, quarterback Matt Ryan. The Boston College Alum paved the way for the Falcons with 392 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown.
Ryan, who had his Jersey retired by Boston College this season, will be the first former Eagle quarterback to start a Super Bowl since Tim Hasselback started for the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.
Drafted by the Falcons with the third pick in the 2008 draft, Ryan, is in the midst of a career year in which he has thrown for 4,922 yards and 38 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
During his time in Chestnut Hill, Ryan was named to the All-ACC team twice and won the ACC Player of the Year in 2007. The Philadelphia native also received the Manning and Unitas Awards.
Ryan is joined on the Falcons by another Boston College Alumnus, linebacker Josh Keyes, who was recently promoted from the practice squad.
The Falcons will meet the winner of the AFC Championship, at NRG Stadium, in Houston, Texas on February 5, 2017.
