***Predators Press Release***
ORLANDO – The Orlando Predators have acquired quarterback Bernard Morris, offensive lineman Trevis Turner and defensive lineman Matt Marcorelle from the Jacksonville Sharks in exchange for quarterback Aaron Garcia. The move marks the ninth trade completed by Head Coach Rob Keefe and his staff this offseason as the franchise continues to revamp its roster.
Entering his fifth season in the Arena Football League, Morris (6-4, 225, Marshall) has led Jacksonville to the American Conference championship game in each of the past two seasons while posting an impressive 20-8 overall record as a starting quarterback. The Orlando native completed 257-of-394 passes for 2,746 yards and 55 touchdowns in 15 games with the Sharks in 2013 while also setting a new single-season franchise record with 306 rushing yards.
Trevis Turner (6-8, 340, Abilene Christian) started each of the Predators’ final three games of 2012 season as a rookie. The offensive lineman was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2011, and earned a spot on the team's practice squad. Turner started six games for Jacksonville last season at guard.
Matt Marcorelle (6-3, 250, Delaware) recorded 23 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 16 starts with the Sharks last season. The defensive end signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2011 NFL Draft and played with the Arena Football Leagues Georgia Force in 2012.
