ORLANDO, FL - The American Conference South Division runner-up Orlando Predators will hold an open player tryout on Saturday, November 10 at Carter Park in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The park is located at 1450 W. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
On the day of the tryout, registration will begin at 9 a.m., with stretching starting promptly at 10 a.m. A pre-registration fee of $70 can be applied by calling the Predators office at 407.648.4444 before Thursday, November 8. Registration on the day of the event will require an application fee of $75 (cash, money order and credit card only). All fees are non-refundable.
Former Chicago Bear and AFL legendary Coach Doug Plank, assistant coach Dave Ewert, Orlando’s team president and the entire player personal staff will be evaluating players in attendance. Former Orlando Predators superstars such as Herkie Walls, Kenny McEntyre and Durwood Roquemore may also be in attendance as well. No Kickers will be evaluated at this tryout.
The Predators have signed multiple players from tryouts in the past including four-year starter on the defensive line, Mark Robinson.
Players will be tested on their 40-yard time, broad jump, and short shuttle with other position-specific drills and one-on-ones to follow. Please bring appropriate workout gear and shoes/cleats. Testing will take place on field turf, which means that no metal cleats are permitted. This is a non-contact camp, no need for shoulder pads or helmets. Players must also be older than 19 and completed high school eligibility.
