(June 4, 2016) – Centurylink Field in Seattle opens their Copa America activities with Haiti playing against Peru for the Group “B” of the tournament. Peru, who was confident in the first 10 minutes of the game, found and more tough Haitian side that gives a lot of problems for the Peruvian team. The goal came in the second half of the match where Paolo Guerrero scored a superb header after a fantastic cross by Cristian Cueva. With this goal Guerrero surpass Teófilo Cubillas to become the all-time leading scorer for the Peru’s national team with 27 goals. Haiti could have equalized the game in the last minutes with a free kick cross that ended up in a header by Kervens Belfort, which was wide. With this victory, Peru climbs to the top of Group “B” with 3 points. Peru will travel to Glendale next Wednesday, June 8, to play against Ecuador, while Haiti will travel to Orlando to play against Brazil at Camping World Stadium on the same day.
