An electric offense that is the University of Miami Hurricanes (15-7), pays a visit to the number fourth ranked team in the nation, University of Louisville Cardinals (19-5) at the KFC Yum Center Saturday, February 11th.. Both teams are looking to make statements in a strong Atlantic Coast Conference where five out of the 15 teams in the conference, are ranked in the top 25. For a Louisville team that just came off an embarrassing loss to a strong Virginia team that is ranked 12th in the country, they will be out for revenge and look to take it out on Miami. On the other side, this Miami team will not lay down and let the Cardinals take them out.
Miami has struggled this season against teams in the top 25 as they have a record of 1-4 against those teams, but they do feel like they can pull off the upset win against a very good Louisville team.
Louisville, coming off a loss to Virginia, are trying to rebound from a tough loss. With two key starters in forward Deng Adel, who averages11 points a game and center Mangok Mathiang, who leads the team in rebounds, missed the last game and are hungry and no doubt will be looking to help the team get back in the win column.
Miami, on the other hand, is coming off a huge win against Virginia Tech. That was a much needed win on their quest to get a tournament bid as they head into a tough battle against Louisville. Miami looks to salvage a season that has one of the toughest schedules left to play, with four of their last eight games coming against teams ranked in the top 25. If they win this game, it will greatly aid their chances of getting a tournament bid.
With Louisville hosting this game, they seem to have a huge advantage, as they have a 12-1 home record and Miami has a 3-3 road record. Louisville is a team that is still in the ACC title hunt, as well as the National Championship so it is very important that they win this game as there are only five games left to play after this game.
As far as the outcome of this slugfest, a Louisville victory is almost certain for the Future Hall of Fame Coach in Louisvilleās Rick Pitino and his Cardinal offense. 77 - 62, Louisville.
