The SkyBoat news organization asked me to be part of the media coverage at Carter - Finley Stadium. This was the first time for me working and covering a football game. even though i am not a fan, meeting the people and moving parts within stadium was been a humbling experience.
The day started leaving home by 9 o'clock am well before kickoff. The security oversight was fantastic showing the capability of State and local law enforcement. After entering into gate B and parking by the training facility we were met with professional and courteous officials. There was a double amputee gentlemen named Kenny that was struck by a drunk driver back in 1992. I donated a book to the gentleman and "Charlie Miked" to the media center.

Upon arriving in the Pressbox, I met Annabelle Meyers, who is the media coordinator for the NC State Wolfpack football team. We exchanged contact information and then Adrian, the Owner of The SkyBoat, SaJorden Miller, our photographer for the day, and myself went to the field meeting the men behind the scenes. Michael a former Air Force veteran introduced himself and snapped pictures on the field of battle for the Wolfpack. After inspection on the field we humbly waited for the game to begin eagerly waiting for the Wolfpack to do battle with the University of Miami Hurricanes.
The game ran slow early on and by half time the score was tied at 3 all. However, at halftime I had one of my most memorable experiences from the day as Annabelle introduced me to Nate Irving a former player of the "Pack" and Denver Broncos. He spoke to me about his car accident and his outer body experience; we shared our stories of recovery and I donated a copy of "Chosen" to him. I also met with a few other former players.
As the game started back up Miami seemed to take control and it started to become clear that they were the likely victors. By the end of third quarter the Hurricanes rained down thunder and lighting sending the Wolfpack back into their den. I had to split after that and head back home to get ready for the Clemson vs Wake Forrest game.
Overall, the experience was enlightening and an awesome opportunity to share my message and story. A big thanks to Annabelle and the rest of the staff at NC State for the awesome experience and allowing me to feel like a part of the family!
