(Orlando, FL) This past Saturday, kids and their dads took to the field at Camping World Stadium as part of All Pro Dad’s annual Father and Kids Experience Orlando. The event was hosted by Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood, and the theme this year was “HERO.”
The families entered the stadium by running through the tunnel much like the pros do. They were greeted by high fives from staff and a fun filled atmosphere. The wide-eyed children and even some dads “oohed and awed” at the site of giant inflatable slide that would be a favorite activity of the day. They would also take part in football themed activities, the highlight being the touchdown dance as kids and their dads did their best impersonations of their gridiron heroes.

This day ultimately was about a different kind of “HERO.” The kids and their dads bonded by talking to each other about what makes them heroes, and how to be heroes at home and out in the community. They built a giant wall together, writing messages on blocks that spelt out “HERO.” A quiet time was also spent reading “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” one of the many pieces of the event that drives the point of being a hero home.
The fun filled day was put on by All Pro Dad, the fatherhood program of Family First, a nation nonprofit organization based in Tampa. NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dungy helped found the innovative and unique organization that seeks to help every father become passionate about his role in the family. The event also highlighted the partnership the organization has with the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
