The Dallas Stars came back and won in overtime to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4-3 at the American Airlines Center. It was a great game if you were a Dallas Stars fan and if you were a Lightning fan, you are furious from the outcome of the game.
From the Tampa Bay fan perspective: The Lightning started out with a 2-0 lead and you would expect the Lightning to continue to build off of that lead and come out of Dallas with a win. The win didn’t happen, yet they still received a point to help them in the standings. Every point matters from now until the playoffs, but Tampa is not playing playoff hockey right now.
Right now, as a fan, I have no idea what kind of hockey we are playing. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that the Lightning where up by 2-0 and still lost the game! How is that possible? There is always hope for the Lightning but after playing the way they did, unless they improve, it’s a long shot that the Lightning will be in the playoffs.
From the Dallas fan perspective: Dallas started off the game down 2-0 and then Left Wing Antoine Roussel cut the Tampa lead to 2-1 to give the Stars a chance in the game at the end of the 1st period. He then scored again to tie the game, Roussel played amazing tonight against the Lightning and he recorded a hat trick with three beautiful goals.
Dallas came into the 1st period a bit shaky at first but still managed to tie the game at the end of the period. Dallas really wanted to win the game, they played hard from the start of the game, to the end of the game and they deserved to win. To win a hockey game, you win by playing as a team from the start to finish. The Dallas Stars have turned their season around and they are on the roller coaster towards the playoffs.
