After being eliminated from the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League with a 3-0 second leg loss to Chivas Guadalajara in the Quarter-Final, Seattle didn’t waste any time getting back to work, Sunday, Sounders FC shifted their focus back to MLS play, with the club facing FC Dallas. The Sounders had a rough week, and it only got worse in Texas, having to play 53 minutes down a man after starting the match without Will Bruin and Nicolas Lodeiro.
FC Dallas came out with aggression and played a very physical first forty-five minutes. Roland Lamah opened up the scoring for FC Dallas in the twentieth minute with a simple tap-in to give Dallas a 1-0 lead.
The Sounders took a massive hit in this match when in the thirty-seventh minute the Sounders lost their leading scorer Clint Dempsey after he was shown a red card after video review. The Sounders forward was given the red card for violent conduct, and the Sounders would have to play short-handed for the rest of the match. FC Dallas went into halftime leading the Sounders 1-0.
Entering the second half, FC Dallas came out with the same aggression and physical play they had in the first half. Oscar Pareja's FC Dallas team put the game out of reach for the Sounders in the first twenty minutes of the second half, when both Maxi Urruti and Lamah added two more goals for FC Dallas.
Next, Brian Schmetzer's side has a bye week due to a FIFA international break, with the club's next match set for Saturday, March 31 against the Montreal Impact on the Xbox Pitch at Century Link Field.
