WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – ESPN and CBS announced the remainder of the Big Ten men’s basketball schedule today, complete with tip times and network affiliations.
Today’s announcement completes Purdue’s 2016-17 schedule. The program will appear on the ESPN family of networks 14 times during the regular season and the CBS networks three times during the upcoming campaign.
Purdue’s contest with Notre Dame on Dec. 17, in the Crossroads Classic will be aired at 2 p.m. ET, and carried by ESPN2. Other highlights of Purdue’s non-conference schedule include ESPN appearances against Louisville in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 30 (7 p.m.) and Arizona State in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 6 (7 p.m.).
The Boilermakers will make their first regular-season appearance on CBS in almost four years, when Wisconsin visits Mackey Arena onJan. 8, 2017. Tip for that contest will be either 1:30 p.m., or 4:30 p.m., and will be announced at a later date.
Both contests with Indiana will be aired by the ESPN family. The first contest Feb. 9, in Bloomington will start at 7 p.m., on ESPN2. The return game Feb. 28, in Mackey Arena will also start at 7 p.m., and be televised by ESPN.
The Feb. 18, contest with Michigan State will air at 4 p.m., and be carried by either ESPN or ESPN2.
Other ESPN / ESPN2 games include Ohio State (Jan. 5; 7 p.m.), Michigan State (Jan. 24; 7 p.m.), Maryland (Feb. 4; Noon) and Michigan (Feb. 25; TBA).
ESPN3 games include McNeese State (Nov. 11), NJIT (TBD), Morehead State (Dec. 3) and Cleveland State (Dec. 10).
The Boilermakers return three starters and seven letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 26-9 record and was ranked in the nation's top 25 all year long. This year's team is ranked in the top 20 of nearly all preseason polls.
Mini plans and single-game tickets will go on sale to the general public online on Oct. 1, and tickets for the Villanova and Indiana games will only be available with the purchase of mini plans and season tickets.
