COLUMBUS, Ohio – Danny Jensen, a senior forward on the Ohio State men’s soccer team, was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Jensen, from Weston, Fla., picks up his fourth career weekly honor and first recognition of the 2016 season.
Jensen scored his first career hat trick to lead the Buckeyes to a 4-1 win over Valparaiso Sept. 21 in Columbus. The OSU forward finished off the home victory with a career-high seven points on three goals and one assist. Jensen, who leads all active Buckeyes with 18 career goals and 49 career points, became the first Buckeye in four years to record a hat trick. In 2016, Jensen leads the Scarlet and Gray with nine points (3g, 3a).
The Buckeyes return to their home field at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday vs. SIU Edwardsville at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
