The No. 25 NC State Wolfpack (7-3, 5-1 ACC) travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (6-4, 3-3 ACC) at 6:30 PM CST time on ESPNU. Wake Forest plays the first of its last two games at home for the regular season on Senior Day. The Wolfpack lead the all-time series 66-38-6 including the last three contests. The last time Wake Forest beat the Wolfpack at home was 2013.
The Wolfpack are coming off a 17-14 victory on the road against Boston College. For the Demon Deacons, they became bowl eligible for the second straight year with a 64-43 road win over Syracuse.
This could be a high scoring game as both teams are averaging over 30 points a game. They both have over 400 yards of total offense on average coming into the game.
Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley will look to keep the Demon Deacons at bay with a balance offensive attack. Finley on the year is 233 for 367 for 2,665 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has a 63.5% completion rate.
Finley has a lot of targets to choose from. Jaylen Samuels leads the team in receptions with 61. He's also is tied for first in touchdown receptions with four and has 502 yards. Kelvin Harmon and Jakobi Meyers also have four touchdown receptions. Harmon leads the team in receiving yards with 867 on 56 receptions. Meyers has 39 receptions for 460 yards.
Wake Forest will also have to contend with the running game as the Wolfpack have carried the ball 367 times for 1,666 yards and 22 touchdowns. Samuels has 58 carries for 284 yards and a team high nine touchdowns. Reggie Gallaspy II has 88 carries for 374 yards and four touchdowns. The leading rusher on the team is Nyheim Himes with 145 carries for 798 yards and seven touchdowns.
Wake Forest has a lot of firepower on offense as well. QB John Wolford has 20 touchdowns on the season and just three interceptions. He has a 65% completion rate and is 172 for 264 for 2,354 yards. Wolford is also first in rushing touchdowns with 10. He's carried 105 times, also good for second on the team for 536 yards, again second on the team.
Matt Coldburn has 123 carries for 674 yards and five touchdowns. He'll want to shoulder the load to take away a lot of the hits that could come Wolfords way.
