CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team will be back in action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., when it hosts Jacksonville at Cobb Stadium.
Miami (2-1-0) and Jacksonville (1-2-0) have met eight previous times, with the Hurricanes earning victories in each of the past five matchups. Miami is 5-2-1 all-time against the Dolphins, including recording wins in all three of head coach Mary-Frances Monroe’s tenure thus far, with the last two being shutouts.
The Hurricanes fell, 2-1, to Ohio State in their home opener Friday night at Cobb Stadium. Freshman forward Kristina Fisher, the reigning NSCAA Player of the Week, logged her fourth goal in three matches to start her career.
Miami has outscored its opponents, 11-2, over the first three matches of the 2016 season and did not allow a goal for the first 190 minutes of action.
All three of the Dolphins’ matches thus far have been shutouts, with the team winning the first and losing the next two. They posted a 6-8-3 (4-2-1 ASUN) record in 2015.
As is the case with all matches at Cobb Stadium, entry to Sunday afternoon’s match is free. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive USoccer sunglasses and team posters will be available for all fans.
The match between the Hurricanes and Dolphins is set to be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra HERE and live stats for the contest will be available HERE.
