CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Fresh off a 2-1 triumph over second-ranked Virginia, the University of Miami soccer team will return to Cobb StadiumSunday to face Syracuse at 1 p.m.
This will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Hurricanes and Orange. Last year’s affair was a double overtime thriller won by Syracuse, 2-1, on its home field.
Miami is 6-4-0 (1-1-0 ACC) after its scintillating Thursday night victory against the Cavaliers, which was good for the fifth top-five win in program history, including the third in the last five years.
Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Mary-Frances Monroe, the Hurricanes have conceded just six goals in 10 matches this season, good for the fourth-lowest total in the ACC, and have allowed multiple tallies just once.
In addition, Miami is tied for fourth in the conference with 24 assists and tied for fifth with 68 points.
Syracuse enters Sunday’s match with a 7-2-2 (0-1-1 ACC) record in 2016. The Orange posted a 7-11-1 (3-7-0) mark last season.
As is the case with all games at Cobb Stadium, entry to Sunday afternoon’s matchup is free. The first 50 fans in attendance will receive Miami sunglasses and team posters will be available for all fans.
The contest between Miami and Syracuse is set to be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra HERE and live stats will be available HERE.
