The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free agent wide receiver Tandon Doss to a contract, the club announced today. Length and terms of the contract are undisclosed.
"I'm incredibly excited about the opportunity to come to Jacksonville and compete for a spot right away,” Doss said. “I would like to thank Mr. Khan, Mr. Caldwell and Coach Bradley for this chance and I can't wait to get back here and get to work. I just want to get on the field in any capacity. If it's at wideout, or on special teams, I'm willing to play wherever they think I can help the team."
Doss, 6-2, 205, has played in 35 career games with two starts since entering the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick of Baltimore in 2011. He has 26 career receptions for 428 yards (16.5 avg.) with one touchdown and 27 punt returns for 412 yards (15.2 avg.) including an 82-yard touchdown in 2013. Doss finished with a career-high 19 catches for 305 yards (16.1 avg.) in 2013 including a career-best 99 receiving yards against Green Bay on October 13.
Doss finished his collegiate career at Indiana with 154 receptions for 1,854 yards and 13 touchdowns in 31 career games. He added 66 career kickoff returns for a 23.5-yard average and 11 punt returns for an 8.5-yard average. Doss finished with 3,786 all-purpose yards, averaging 122.1 yards per game. He set a school single-season record with 1,016 kickoff return yards.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Doss attended Ben Davis High School where he had 37 receptions for 538 yards and four touchdowns as a senior.
