Three Road Games Also Set at USF, Iowa, Minnesota
Several game times were announced by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday, including a pair of Fighting Illini home games. Illinois' Homecoming matchup with Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 28, will start at 11 a.m. CT, while the Friday night home game vs. Nebraska on Sept. 29 has been set for 7 p.m. CT on FS1.
The Nebraska game had been previously announced as prime time, but a specific start time had not been announced until today.
This year will mark the 107th Homecoming at the University of Illinois. The Fighting Illini are 45-59-2 all-time on Homecoming, dating back to 1910, a 3-0 win over Chicago.
The University of Illinois boasts being one of the first universities to celebrate Homecoming, a tradition on almost every college campus. It was conceived in 1909 by students C.F. Williams and W. Elmer Ekblaw, members of the Shield and Trident senior society. They joined with another society, Phoenix, to organize the three-day event.
