(HOUSTON, TX) – Houston Dash midfielder Andressinha and defender Bruna Benites were named to Brazil’s national team roster for the Tournament of Nations to be held from July 27-August 3 at three venues along the west coast of the United States.
Andressinha has scored seven goals in 20 appearances for Brazil and won the gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. Benites has appeared in 48 games for Brazil and scored four goals since her debut in 2012. The defender appeared in the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games and won the 2014 CONMEBOL Copa America Femenina.
Brazil will open the tournament against Japan at 6:15 p.m. CDT in Seattle. Three days later, Andressinha and Bruna will face Dash teammates Carli Lloyd and Morgan Brianand the U.S. Women’s National Team at 7 p.m. in San Diego. Brazil’s final game will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 3 against Lydia Williams and Australia in Carson, Calif.
Andressinha and Benites will be available for the Dash’s July 22 game against the Boston Breakers at BBVA Compass Stadium and are expected to return prior to the Aug. 5 game in Oregon against Portland Thorn FC.
Fans can watch Andressinha, Bruna and the Houston Dash at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at BBVA Compass Stadium as they host Mallory Pugh, Stephanie Labbé and the Washington Spirit for their final meeting of the regular season.
