Los Angeles, CA – The University of Michigan came out in the first half strong taking the lead early and holding on to that lead for as long as they can. Florida State made a great play, driving into the lane but was rejected by Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman. The rejection did not stop Florida State in fact it put a fire under the Seminoles. After five minutes of play have gone by Michigan was up 10-6.
With ten minutes left in the half the Seminoles were able to pick up the slack on defense and went back to man-to-man defense effectively shutting down the Wolverines. Florida State turned the four-point deficit around into a two-point lead. As we come closer to the end of the first half Florida State led 19-17. Michigan made a bad pass from the top of the key to inside the paint but Florida State was there. Just seconds after getting the ball back Michigan striped it from them but as they go up for the dunk Christ Koumadje smacked the ball hard against the glass stopping the dunk.
With just less than two minutes left to play in the half and the Seminoles were going on a four-minute scoring drought and the only reason they maintained the lead is due to their exceptional defense. The drought continued until the end of the half and due to the drought Florida State lost the lead.
The score at the end of the half is 27-26 Michigan on top
