TAMPA BAY – Storm quarterback Randy Hippeard was honored for his performance in a 56-49 win over the Philadelphia Soul this past Saturday night. The Arena Football League announced that Hippeard has been nominated for the AFL MVP of The Week.
AFL MVP of The Week: Hippeard (6-foot-3, 205 lbs., UVA-Wise) helped guide the Storm to a 56-49 victory over the Soul this past Saturday. Hippeard, who was under pressure for most of the game, was knocked out twice by the opposing defense, coming back each time to lead the team to a score. With under a minute left in regulation, he would connect with wide receiver T.T. Toliver on a 28-yard pass that would prove to be the game-winning touchdown. Hippeard would go on to finish the night completing 14-of-26 passes for 217 yards and seven touchdowns. The win extended the team’s current win streak to three games and put it right back in the playoff hunt.
Fans will have the opportunity to vote on the AFL MVP of the Week atwww.arenafootball.com starting on Wednesday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Voting ends on Thursday, June 12, with the winner being announced later in the afternoon.
