Storm Communictions
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm will host “Dawg Night” presented by the Tampa Bay Times this Friday, April 17, when the team hosts the New Orleans VooDoo at AMALIE Arena. In honor of Storm Dawg’s birthday, the team will open its doors to the dogs, allowing fans to bring their best friends to a Storm game.
Storm Dawg is the team’s best friend and has been patrolling the sidelines for over 12 seasons. He’s seen many games in his lifetime, with one of the most exciting being the 2003 ArenaBowl Championship that saw his team defeat the Arizona Rattlers, 43-29. Come celebrate with Storm Dawg when the team presents him with a dog bowl shaped cake, and a three-tiered cake for the fans.
While it may be his birthday, it does not mean the fans cannot receive a gift. Storm Dawg wants 1,000 lucky fans to receive a post-game gift when they leave the arena that consists of a drawstring bag that includes a newspaper, courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times.
In addition, the Storm has partnered with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to conduct a food drive prior to kickoff. All fans are urged to donate whatever they can in order to help feed as many pets as possible in the Tampa Bay area. The Storm and the Humane Society ask that all food be unopened and in its original packaging. Any fan who brings a donation will receive a free ticket to a future Storm home game.
Owners will also be able to party with their pets on Ford Thunder Alley, where the Storm has planned several pre-game “Dog” festivities.
All fans who would like to bring their dog will receive terrace level tickets. A “Parent/Dog” combo ticket can be purchased for $15.00. Additional guest tickets can be bought for $10.00. Check-in for “Dawg Night” will be located at the Storm tent on Ford Thunder Alley.
