ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF men’s basketball returns to CFE Arena on Saturday at noon, tipping off against Temple. The Knights are coming off a win at Tulane while the Owls are on a two-game winning streak, which is anchored by an overtime win over Tulsa.
Prior to the inaugural season of The American, UCF and Temple had not met previously. Since the start of the conference, the two league foes have met five times with the Owls leading the all-time series at 3-2.
A.J. Davis has led the Knights this season, averaging 13.1 points and 6.1 rebounds. He is the only player in The American averaging at least 13 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Justin McBride has been big for UCF since entering conference play, scoring 10.7 points per game and grabbing 6.7 boards per clip.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Knights snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating Tulane on the road, 70-62.
- Daiquan Walker tallied a career-high 33 points, making 11-of-16 shots including six three pointers. Twenty of his 33 were scored in the first half.
- UCF went on a 15-3 run in the first to give them an 11-point lead with just over six minutes remaining.
- UCF held a 10-point lead at halftime, but Tulane clawed back into the game midway through the second.
- Shaheed Davis sealed the victory with a three pointer with 47 seconds remaining, giving UCF a six-point lead.
- Staphon Blair came off the bench for 19 valuable minutes, scoring six points and pulling down six rebounds.
- A.J. Davis and Shaheed Davis nearly posted double-doubles with A.J. scoring 13 and grabbing eight boards and Shaheed tallying eight points and snatching nine rebounds.

- Temple holds a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series, which during the inaugural season of the American Athletic Conference.
- The Owls swept the season series last year, closing out the series with an 86-62 victory at CFE Arena on Jan. 28.
- UCF’s last win came in the opening round of The American Tournament in 2014 with the Knights winning 94-90 in double overtime in Memphis, Tennessee.
- The two league foes have split the last two seasons at CFE Arena with Temple winning last year.
A.J. “DO IT ALL” DAVIS
- A.J. Davis is the only player in the American Athletic Conference to rank top 15 in The American in points (14th), rebounds (15th) and assists (10th).
- The Tennessee transfer is the only player in the league averaging over 13 points, six rebounds and three assists per game.
- Davis currently ranks eighth in The American in points per game during league games, posting 14.1 points per clip.
MAKING THE EASY ONES
- Currently, the Black & Gold have six players shooting over 70 percent from the line.
- A.J. Davis is the Knights’ most frequent visitor of the free-throw line, and he is shooting 80 percent (96-of-120), which ranks eighth in The American.
- UCF has proven to be very clutch at the line, shooting 75.7 percent with under five minutes remaining in regulation/overtime and 76.8 percent in the final two minutes of games.
BIG GAME IN THE BIG EASY
- Daiquan Walker tallied a career-high and UCF season-high 33 points in the road win over Tulane.
- His 33 are the most for a UCF player on the road since Jan. 12, 2013, when Keith Clanton recorded 36 at East Carolina.

- Shaheed Davis and Matt Williams both rank top 10 in The American in three-point percentage in league games with Davis tied for first at 50 percent and Williams sitting seventh at 42.6 percent.
- Williams has made a three pointer in 12 consecutive games.
- Williams has 129 career three pointers, which is 13 from tying Gary Johnson (142, 2003-05) from 10th on UCF’s all-time list.
MCBRIDE PLAYING BIG
- Justin McBride has been playing the best ball of his career since entering league action, averaging 10.7 points and 6.4 rebounds over the last nine games.
- The 6-foot-10, 300-pound center leads the conference in field goal percentage during league play, shooting 62.5 percent from the floor.
- On Jan. 11, McBride was named to the AAC Honor Roll after averaging 15 points and seven boards in a 101 week for the Knights.

- The Knights have lost three games this season in regulation when they have scored 85 or more points.
- The last time UCF had a loss when scoring 85 or more in regulation as Jan. 3, 2007, at Colorado (96-87).
