The Orlando community showed their unity in this game wearing T-shirts of different colors forming a big rainbow in the stands; the tribute continued with a beautiful opening ceremony with all the fans and players joining their voices together singing the national anthem.
The game started with an active Orlando City SC looking to give some happiness to a city that has suffered a lot through last week. Cyle Larin, Adrian Winter, Break Shea and Kevin Molino showed their intensity during the first half creating several opportunities without any luck on goal. The first half was going to end in a scoreless draw with both teams creating several opportunities.
The second half started with another emotional moment, in the 49th minute of the game, all the fans and players stopped the game for 30 seconds in honor of the 49 victims of the shooting.
The first goal of the match was going to come from a corner delivered by Adrian Winter; Seb Hines was going to score with a sublime header that left San Jose's goalkeeper standing. Seb Hines dedicated the goal to the city and LGBT community by kissing his rainbow colored wristband.
San Jose was going to level the score in the 84th minute of the game through a header goal by Chad Barret.
With the score 1-1, Orlando City SC pushed forward with Julio Baptista and Carlos Rivas coming into the field. Both substitutes were going to join forces to score Orlando City 2nd goal, a fabulous cross by Rivas and an even better volley definition by Baptista gave the temporary victory to Orlando, but a few minutes later Shea Salinas was going to level the score again for San Jose for the final 2-2 score.
During the post game press conference Orlando City SC coach, Adrian Heath, addressed the emotional moments of the day, "We knew it was not going to be a normal day, everything was different the music, the feelings, It was very emotional for us and I think the club handled the situation very well." Heath felt disappointed by the result "It is frustrating and disappointing, but I'm proud of my players and their performance"
With this draw, Orlando City SC sums 17 points in the league and settles in the 7th place in the Eastern Division.
