The Jacksonville Jaguars made several roster moves today with three players being placed on injured reserve and three players added to the 53-man roster. The Jaguars were awarded fourth-year offensive tackle Sam Youngoff waivers from Buffalo, promoted third-year offensive tackle DeMarcus Love from the practice squad and signed first-year guard Jacques McClendon to the 53-man roster. Safety Dwight Lowery (concussion), offensive tackle Luke Joeckel (ankle) and tight end Allen Reisner (knee) were placed on injured reserve. Reisner has been designated to return.
First-year wide receiver Jeremy Ebertwas signed to the practice squad and rookie wide receiver Tobais Palmer was waived from the practice squad.
Young has played in 22 games with four starts since entering the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2010. He played in two games with the Cowboys as a rookie before he was waived and claimed by Buffalo prior to the 2011 season. In three seasons (2011-13) with the Bills, he played in 20 games with four starts including four games in 2013. He played in a career-high 12 games in 2012 with four starts at right tackle and also saw action at guard.
A native of Coral Springs, Florida, Young started all 50 games of his career at Notre Dame (40 at right tackle, 10 at left tackle). He attended Pine Crest High School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he played football and track. He was named the 2005 Florida Gatorade Player of the Year and was invited to play in the 2006 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
