TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce that defensive back Bryan Evans has joined the team. “Bryan is a player that we feel can come in and make an impact as we continue to retool our defense,” said vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. “His addition to the defensive backfield will raise the level of competition at the position.” Evans (6-foot-0, 197 lbs., Georgia) spent the 2012 season, his rookie year, with South Division rival Jacksonville Sharks. He appeared in and started seven games prior to missing time while on injured reserve. Evans did return from IR to participate in the playoffs for the Sharks. He finished the season with 28.5 tackles, one for a loss, and two pass breakups. The former Georgia Bulldog and Edward H. White H.S. (Jacksonville, FL) standout began his professional career with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2010. Evans joins fellow teammate and former Bulldog Vance Cuff in the Storm defensive backfield. |
